Pre-REGISTRATION required – Deadline: Monday, September 21st Fall is almost here and the start of school is growing closer! It’s time to think about FCC Rochester Chinese Dance registration. We welcome back again this year, Yeh-Her Lee, of the Joy Luck Dancers and Susan Kwik, of the Susan Kwik Dancers as our instructors. We are fortunate to have such fine Chinese Dance instructors volunteer their time with our daughters. Location: Brighton Recreation Community Building, 585-784-5260, 220 Idlewood Rd, Rochester, NY 14618 When: Monday evenings – · Ages 5 - 6 (must be entering kindergarten) 6:30-7:30PM with Yeh-Her
· Ages 7 - 10 – 6:30-7:15PM with Susan
· Ages 11 - high school age 7:15-8:00PM with Susan
Teachers will evaluate children registered and may elect to move children from one group to another, based upon total number of children in each class, age, ability or any other factors. This is completely up to the discretion of the teachers. Dates for Fall & early Winter classes: Monday’s - 9/28, 10/5, Columbus Day no class, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, Thanksgiving Week no class, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, Holiday Week no class, 1/4, 1/11. Dates for classes for the remaining of the winter and spring cannot be booked with Brighton Recreation at this time. Classes typically run every week until the last performance at the Memorial Art Gallery’s “Asian Pacific American Heritage Family Day” performance. Last year’s performance was held at the end of May. This coming year’s performance date is not yet known. Commitment to classes is just like any other dance program. Expectations are that you will attend every week except in case of sickness or emergency of course. If there is a week that you know you will be unable to attend for some reason, please inform the teacher ahead of time so that they will know. Our teachers are wonderful to volunteer their time for this program and extremely committed to our children. Our children who attend regularly work hard to learn their routines. It is difficult for both teachers and children when everyone is not present to fulfill their roles. Known performances: · 2009 FCC-Rochester Chinese New Year Celebration on Sunday, January 31, 2010
· Memorial Art Gallery’s “Asian Pacific American Heritage Family Day”
· Other performances possible at discretion of the teachers
Cost: · Member $100.00
· Non-Member $125.00
This covers entire school year; to be paid by September 21. Checks to be made payable to FCC Rochester. Please contact this year’s dance coordinators if you have any questions.
