THEME - CHINESE TRADITIONS

While we wouldn’t expect the children to master the Chinese language introduced or understand all the nuances of the traditions, they should begin to feel familiar with the sights and sounds of Chinese Culture. As the children grow older this familiarity will form a foundation on which they can build if you and your family want to further their cultural education in the future.

We have chosen to focus on Chinese Traditions for the Spring 2010 session. We worked with Miss Lynna Gu to select eight topics that hold special meaning to anyone of Chinese decent. Topics will include Foods, the Arts, Animals, and traditional Games and Clothing. We will also explore how Birthdays and Weddings are celebrated as well as the significance of the color Red.

Additionally, we are thrilled by our new location. Rochester Childfirst Network is a not-for-profit early education organization located across the street from Highland Hospital.

If you have any questions about Chinese Culture Class please feel free to talk with the volunteers who have taken on the work of organizing this session.
