Mandarin Language Classes:

There are currently 4 classes geared toward families with children that don’t speak Chinese as the primary language at home. Children learn to recognize and say the various tones that make up words, how to make phrases, to read the word in pinyin and how to recognize and write the word in simplified characters used in Mainland China.

Culture:

Children will learn songs and poems and play games in Chinese. Electives such as art, dance, and chess are also available following the language classes.

**Chinese School of Rochester

Saturdays at Brighton Middle School

The **Chinese School of Rochester (CSR) offers classes in Mandarin Chinese for both school-age children and adults. (**CSR is not an FCC-Rochester program.) Classes are available for younger children, however it is recommended that they are at least entering first grade.

Semester Information:

Fall language classes start Saturday, September 9, and meet each Saturday morning during the school year from 9:30-11:20 at the Brighton Middle School in the twelve corners, Brighton.
